No guy has been able to win my heart. Well, that is, until I met Ben.He bakes the most amazing cookies, they are ooey, gooey and chewy and taste best fresh out of the oven with a glass of icy cold milk. He’s not stingy either! All his cookies are generously sized with loads of ingredients in them. I couldn’t stay away after our first date! In fact, we met three times in a week, since his cookies are just that good. And now, I still can’t stop thinking about him… or his cookies at least 😛 Oatmeal RaisinI’ll start with my favourite flavour – Oatmeal Raisin. I had this on three occasions and they were all amazing. Loaded with chewy oatmeal, plump giant raisins (seriously, the largest raisins I have ever eaten), and lots of cinnamon goodness. (Have I ever told you my favourite spice is Cinnamon?) The oatmeal raisin cookie appears smaller in diameter to the other cookies as it doesn’t spread as much. I think the oatmeal helps it to hold its shape. But, weight-wise, they are the same as other cookies as they make up for the lack of size by the sheer thickness of the cookie. Just look at the thickness of the cookie! It’s about twice as thick as Subway’s Oatmeal Raisin Cookies! :O Not that I’m complaining hehe.Another key factor that I look at is quality control, and I must say Ben’s Cookies has been rather consistent. My cookies were all good, with the exception of my first cookie being slightly thinner than the next two, but otherwise, QC was fine!Oatmeal raisin is chewier than the other cookies, but if you’re like me and like chewy cookies and lots of cinnamon, this is a must try! P.S The last Oatmeal Raisin Cookie I had was THE BEST. Look at how fat it is? So delicious 😀You can even see the oatmeal flakes and the juicy raisin hiding at the top just waiting to be devoured. Peanut Butter I didn’t try this cookie, but my brother said that it was nice, and was loaded with peanuts. The texture was chewy as well and the peanut flavour was well-pronounced. Yet another cookie done well! Double Chocolate  This is the closest you’re going to get to a brownie in a cookie. Seriously. This cookie tasted like a brownie. It was devilishly chocolately, almost like a sore-throat waiting to happen, so you’ll need a glass of milk with this one. You have to really love chocolate to enjoy this cookie so chocoholics, this cookie was made for you. Plain Chocolate They have a few cookies with chocolate chunks – Plain Chocolate, Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate. I’m not sure what the difference between Plain and Milk is, but they look the same to me. Let’s focus on what really matters here… THE CHUNKS. The chunks melt so beautifully and work so much better than measly little chocolate chips. They add to the wonderful gooeyness and sweetness of the cookie and makes it so much more of a treat. This was my sister’s favourite! Milk Chocolate & PralineThis was like a cross between the Milk Chocolate Cookie and the Peanut Cookie. There were lovely chunks of melty chocolate and a nice crunch from the peanuts that studded the cookie. I honestly don’t know how they do it… but we have another winner! This was my mother’s favourite. They really do have something for everyone. The outlet I visited was the one located in the Covered Market in Oxford. You won’t miss it… just follow your nose and look out for the bright red shop front. They have loads of other locations in London and they’ve even come to Singapore (Word to the wise… the standard of the cookies in Singapore are far from what I had in Oxford. The cookies are softer and just not as great. I’m attributing that to the temperature and humidity here) The cookies are sold by weight which is fair since you’ll be paying for what you get! They have loads of other flavours too like Smores cookies and Ginger cookies, so you’ll definitely be able to find something you like. They also sell cold milk for 70p which goes perfectly. I mean milk and cookies are like peanut butter and bananas. Matchmade in heaven. If you’re a frugal foodie, then plan ahead and bring your own milk! Or buy a pint for 49p at Tesco/Sainsbury’s… you’ll get more milk for a cheaper price. Trust me, I don’t eat desserts often, but when I do, I eat the best… and chewy cookie-wise Ben’s will be my one and only. Ben’s Cookies Rating: 8/10
